How To Connect Coinbase Exchange

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following prerequisites:

  • You’ve got a SageMaster account

  • You have a Coinbase account

Connect Your Exchange

Creating a New API Key in Coinbase

  1. Log in to your Coinbase account, hover over the icon in the top right corner and select Settings

  2. On the Settings page, scroll down to API in the left side menu

  3. Select “+ New API Key” in the top-right corner

  4. Populate the following fields:

    • API Key nickname

    • Portfolio - API keys are limited to one portfolio only. Coinbase doesn't allow API keys for multiple portfolios.

    • Permissions, e.g. View (read-only), Trade

    • IP address whitelist - you can optionally add IP addresses to enhance your API key security. For multiple addresses, separate them with commas.

  5. Next, click Create & Download at the bottom to generate your unique key and verify through 2-step verification., if required. You'll immediately see the new API secret key, while the public key will appear on the API Settings page next to your chosen nickname.

    1. Important: The API secret will only be displayed once. Store them in a secure location. If lost, Coinbase cannot recover them, and you'll need to create a new API key.

    2. Remember, you need the Secret key, and Public key to properly authorize and use the API Key

  6. Now go to your Sagemaster account and click “My Exchanges” in My settings section or in the Side menu

  7. Click the “Connect Exchange” button, select Spot tab, choose Coinbase, and paste the API Key and Secret Key from Coinbase into the fields provided. You need to paste entire API Key and Secret Key generated on Coinbase side including all the symbols.

  8. Click “Authorize API Connection” to finish connecting your Sagemaster account with Coinbase.
